I’m looking at this broken man
But all I see is a boy
An intelligent boy with big dreams

I’m staring at this confused man
But all I see is a boy
A confident boy, so full of life

I’m eyeing this lost man
But all I see is a boy
An innocent boy I once knew

A hole in the face

Running like tap
Stabbing like knife

Saying the unseen
Slaying the unheard

Mouth untamed
Words unseasoned

I once went on a journey to a place
A place I had fantasized about for some time
For some time, it was like one of those dreams
Those dreams that actually become reality

As I journeyed back, I was thinking
Thinking about my experiences
My experiences about how dreams could turn out to be nightmares
Nightmares that steal our fantasies

I once read a book
A book I loved so much
So much I hoped it would never end
Never end like the regular ones

As I read the last line of the book
The book became an eye-opener to a fact
A fact that everything beautiful and ugly, has a beginning and  an end
An end somewhere in the future
The future that could just be a minute away
