A NEW THING
“Listen carefully, I am
about to do a new thing, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it?
I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” –Isaiah 43:19(AMP)
Cambridge English
dictionary defines a wilderness as an area of land that has not been used to
grow crops or had towns and roads built on it, especially because it is
difficult to live in as a result of its extremely cold or hot weather or bad
earth. Also, a desert is defined as an area, often covered with sand or rocks,
where there is very little rain and not many plants. Road in the wilderness?
Rivers in the desert? …These sound strange and maybe unbelievable right? But here
is the word of God telling us that he’ll not only bring out some drops of water
from this dry land, he’ll make a river out of it. In the same vein, he’s saying
he’s going to make a road out of this abandoned land.
This is a
representation of God’s plans for us this year. God is ready to do those things
that appear impossible. In the previous year(s), you’ve probably looked up to
God for some things and now you’re thinking those things are impossible. Read
that verse again. The verse came to mind two days ago and since then, I knew I
had to share it. It’s a good reminder that our God is a God of possibilities.
He’s a God that makes the ‘impossible’ possible and his ways are mysterious.
I don’t know about you,
but I know God has a lot to offer us this year. The pleasant surprises are on
the way. Be expectant!
